Linum Consult’s client is a leading international main contractor with extensive experience delivering large-scale EPC and infrastructure projects worldwide. They are currently engaged on one of the UK’s most significant power projects, contributing to the country’s clean energy future. 

They are seeking a Health & Safety Manager to oversee the ground engineering works, based on site in Leiston, England.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading the development, implementation, and continuous review of the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Management Plan for the ground engineering works
  • Ensuring all activities comply with the Construction Phase Plan (CPP) and the client’s Standard Occupational Health and Safety Requirements
  • Coordinating with all contractors and subcontractors to ensure safe systems of work are in place
  • Overseeing the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements, ensuring they meet standards and are fit for construction
  • Monitoring compliance for excavations, lifting operations, working at height, plant and equipment, hazardous substances, and temporary works
  • Leading investigations into any incidents and near misses
  • Conducting regular site inspections, audits, and behavioural safety observations
  • Participating in weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews, and contributing to management reporting
  • PROFILE

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Ideally have an NVQ Level 5 or 6 in Health & Safety
  • Significant experience of administering, executing, and managing the Health & Safety on large scale construction and engineering projects
  • Experienced in developing and implementing H&S management systems
  • Skilled in incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Strong communication and management skills, with the ability to liaise with all levels of stakeholders
  • The right to live and work in the UK, ideally locally to Leiston, Suffolk
