Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services / Mechanical Contracting) – Hybrid (Office & Work from Home) – (Birmingham) • Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per annum + Car Allowance + Bonus Scheme + Hybrid

Client: My client is a well-established and highly respected mechanical contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering excellence in the building services industry. Known for their collaborative approach and technical expertise, they specialise in large-scale commercial projects across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design process on major commercial projects
• Produce detailed design calculations, technical specifications, and drawings
• Coordinate designs with other disciplines, consultants, and subcontractors
• Attend client meetings, design workshops, and site visits as required
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and sustainability goals
• Support and mentor junior engineers within the design team
• Assist with value engineering, project planning, and cost control
• Liaise with project delivery teams to ensure successful implementation

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical design within the building services industry
• Proven experience delivering large-scale commercial projects
• Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
