Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Miller/Programmer/Setter to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in CNC milling operations, with the ability to program, set, and operate a range of machines, ensuring components are produced to the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set, and operate CNC milling machines using Fanuc, Heidenhain, and Siemens controls (experience with Mazatrol is highly advantageous).
- Work on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining centres, producing complex, high-precision components.
- Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, ensuring dimensional accuracy and compliance with customer requirements.
- Machine a wide variety of materials, including exotic alloys and hard metals, to tight tolerances.
- Conduct quality checks using appropriate metrology and inspection equipment, following AS9100 and first-off inspection procedures.
- Maintain production efficiency and quality through adherence to 6S and Lean manufacturing practices.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve technical or process-related issues.
- Work independently to manage workloads while contributing effectively as part of a team.
Key Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a CNC Miller/Programmer/Setter.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming and toolpath optimisation.
- Proven experience within aerospace, oil & gas, or automotive manufacturing environments.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to precision.
- Knowledge of AS9100 standards and quality assurance procedures.
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience with offline programming software (e.g. Mastercam, Edgecam, or Fusion 360).
- Understanding of process improvement initiatives.
