We are recruiting for an experienced Works Manager / Production Manager / Engineering Manager to join a well-established toolmaking and precision engineering company. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background and experience managing workshop production within a manufacturing environment.
This permanent day shift role offers stability, leadership responsibility, and the chance to oversee a skilled engineering team within a modern machining and tooling facility.
The Role
As Works Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring production runs efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Managing daily workshop production and engineering operations
- Leading and developing a team of engineers and technicians
- Ensuring Health & Safety and COSHH compliance
- Planning workflow, production schedules, and job priorities
- Managing labour, equipment, and materials
- Monitoring productivity, output, and quality KPIs
- Working closely with senior management to improve operational performance
Requirements
- Experience as a Works Manager, Production Manager, Engineering Manager, or Workshop Manager
- Strong engineering background (essential)
- Experience within toolmaking, precision engineering, CNC machining, or manufacturing
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and COSHH
- Experience managing teams within a workshop or production environment
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
