Job Description:Locum Paralegal – Debt Recovery Duration: 6 months Pay Rate: £–£ per hour Location: Birmingham (Hybrid – 1 day per week in the office)About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Locum Paralegal to join a busy local authority legal team, with a primary focus on debt recovery. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong litigation or debt recovery experience who is looking to expand their skills within the public sector.Key Responsibilities
Manage a varied caseload of debt recovery matters, including pre‑action work and progression of claims.Draft and prepare legal documents, including correspondence, statements of case, witness statements and court forms.Liaise with internal departments, external agencies, debtors, and legal representatives.Assist with case preparation and ensure deadlines are met in line with local authority procedures.Provide general legal support to the wider team as required.About You
Previous experience in debt recovery, civil litigation or a similar area is essential.Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment is desirable but not required.Strong organisational and case management skills.Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.Excellentmunication skills, both written and verbal.Working ArrangementsThis role is offered on a hybrid basis, requiring attendance in the office one day per week, with the remainder of the work undertaken remotely.If you are an enthusiastic and capable paralegal seeking a flexible locum opportunity within localernment, we’d love to hear from you.
