Job Title: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant – Year 6 (ADHD Support)

Pay: £90 – £100 per day
Days : 2 to 4 days a week (Tuesday and Thursday)

A welcoming primary school in Colchester is looking for a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a Year 6 pupil with ADHD on a temporary basis.
In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent, tailored support throughout the school day, helping the pupil stay focused, engaged, and confident in their learning. The pupil benefits from clear routines, structured support, and positive reinforcement, so patience and a calm, encouraging approach are key.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil with ADHD during lessons and throughout the school day
Help the pupil stay engaged with tasks, manage transitions, and regulate focus
Adapt activities and instructions to support the pupil’s learning style and pace
Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow support strategies and routines
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working with children with ADHD or additional learning needs
Background as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or similar role
Patient, proactive, and able to build positive relationships with pupils
Confident supporting upper KS2 learning and classroom routines
