About The Role

Knight Frank is looking to hire a DevOps Engineer to join their internal team based at our Head Office in Baker Street. We are seeking a proactive and innovative DevOps Engineer to join our internal DevOps team at our headquarters in Central London. In this pivotal role, you will design, build, and maintain robust software development pipelines while championing automation and continuous improvement. Your expertise will be critical in bridging the gap between development and operations, ensuring efficient and secure delivery across multiple environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pipeline & Infrastructure Development: Design and implement automated build, test, and deployment pipelines from source control through production.
  • Build, configure, and maintain development tools and infrastructure to support scalable software delivery.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with developers and other stakeholders to capture needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Serve as a technical product owner by contributing to medium-to-long term strategic planning.
  • Process Improvement & Automation: Continuously assess and optimize development and release processes to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Develop tools and scripts (using PowerShell, Python, and YAML) that support automation and process standardization.
  • Quality Assurance & Security: Conduct thorough testing, code reviews, and system analysis to maintain high standards in code quality and performance.
  • Ensure robust cybersecurity measures are embedded in all systems to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Project Management & Technical Support: Participate in project planning and decision-making, ensuring smooth rollout and integration of new features.
  • Troubleshoot technical challenges and implement effective fixes and updates as needed.

Qualifications & Technical Skills

  • A minimum of a 2:1 degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Certification is desirable but not essential.

Technical Expertise

  • Cloud & DevOps Tools: Azure DevOps, Microsoft Azure Cloud, Azure Pipelines.
  • Development & Automation: Continuous Integration & Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies; Scripting with PowerShell and Python; configuration with YAML.
  • Version Control & Operating Systems: Git; Windows and Linux environments.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Infrastructure As Code & Monitoring: Bicep; Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Stack.

Professional Competencies

  • Service Management: Ensure that service components meet business needs and performance targets.
  • Process Optimization: Deep understanding of process efficiency and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Security Focus: Design solutions with embedded security controls to mitigate cybersecurity threats.
  • Design & Documentation: Translate logical designs into detailed physical designs and document work to agreed standards.
  • Integration & Collaboration: Develop interfaces between systems and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Identify user requirements and align them with technical strategies.
