The Role – Lead Veterinary Surgeon
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you will play a pivotal role in driving clinical excellence, leadership, and team development. This is a hands-on role combining clinical work with leadership responsibilities, ideal for an experienced vet who enjoys mentoring and influencing best practice.
Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality veterinary care across a varied small animal caseload
- Leading clinical governance and maintaining exceptional clinical standards
- Confident interpretation of diagnostics and clinical decision-making
- Supporting and mentoring veterinary colleagues and nursing teams
- Working closely with the Practice Manager on rota planning, wellbeing, and operational decisions
- Promoting a positive, collaborative, and supportive team culture
- Delivering outstanding client care and communication

- Well-equipped small animal first opinion practice
- On-site emergency care 24/7, 365 days a year
- Excellent facilities including dental x-ray, laparoscope, and gastroscope
- Supportive clinical team, including vets with postgraduate certificates

The Rota
- Full-time position over 4 or 5 days
- 1:5 weekends
- No on-call
