Job Description:

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Production Engineer to lead smooth new product introduction (NPI) into our operations environment, ensuring products move from design to manufacture efficiently and reliably. You will provide hands-on technical support to Engineering and Operations, improving existing processes and resolving technical issues to enhance quality, cost and delivery performance.

Responsibilities

  • Support Operations to resolve technical issues, fully documenting investigations, and develop robust production processes and product improvements that reduce cost and improve reliability while maintaining quality standards.
  • Design, develop, document and improve tooling and test jigs, liaising closely with design and manufacturing teams to ensure product quality and operational productivity.
  • Review and update product and process documentation and ERP data, including bills of materials, routings and design change requests.
  • Use statistical methods and data analysis to identify process weaknesses, generate and track KPIs, and propose and implement corrective actions.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong engineering background with significant experience in a design and manufacturing environment, ideally within an SME electronics manufacturing setting.
  • Proven experience of 3D CAD at component level.
  • Security Clearable – UK Citizens can only be considered for this position

  • Understanding of AS9100 and ISO9001 quality standards.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving teams.

Personal attributes

  • Committed, dedicated and proactive, with a strong results focus.
  • Able to multitask, manage priorities and meet tight deadlines without losing attention to detail.
  • Strong people skills, collaborative approach and confident leading problem-solving activities.

Work environment

You will be based in the Production Engineering department, working closely with Operations on the shop floor. The environment includes low-voltage equipment, high-temperature test equipment, and chemicals/solvents used in the manufacturing process, so a strong safety mindset is essential.

Salary, benefits and location

  • 4 day working week M-T
  • Benefits: company pension, free on-site parking.
  • Location: on-site, in-person role.

Candidates will need to be security clearable UK Citizens or foreign nationals with 5 years continuous residency in the UK required.

If you are a Senior Production Engineer with strong NPI, 3D CAD and manufacturing experience looking to take ownership in a growing electronics manufacturing business, we’d like to hear from you.
