This is a high-impact, hands-on technical role focused on driving quality improvements across growers and packhouses, with a year-round emphasis on blueberries. The successful candidate will be the vital link between suppliers, pack operations, and internal teams—ensuring compliance, reducing claims, and influencing commercial decisions through strong technical insight.

The Role

The Senior Quality Technologist will:

  • Audit supplier sites and packhouse systems, delivering clear feedback and managing corrective action plans
  • Proactively monitor fruit quality through site visits, data analysis, and trend reporting
  • Minimise customer complaints and reduce supplier claims
  • Provide technical guidance to growers and packhouses to ensure compliance with legislative and customer standards
  • Support indirect management of third-party post-harvest teams
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments to align quality objectives with commercial strategy
  • Build strong working relationships with customer technical managers and respond confidently to technical queries
  • Assist in complex quality-related decision making during peak seasonal periods
  • This is a role for someone who thrives on being visible, influential, and solutions-focused.

  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the confidence to challenge constructively
  • Experience auditing suppliers and interpreting technical standards
  • Excellent organisation and time management, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Decisive, resilient, and comfortable working under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Flexibility to travel across the UK and internationally, including weekend work during peak seasons
  • Why This Role Stands Out

  • Significant autonomy with home-based flexibility
  • Opportunity to influence supplier performance and commercial outcomes
  • Exposure to both domestic and international supply chains
  • A dynamic environment where no two days are the same
  • The chance to shape technical standards and drive continuous improvement
  • For a technically driven professional who enjoys balancing data, relationships, and on-site problem solving, this is an opportunity to make a real impact across the supply chain.
