Overview

We are currently seeking a Multi-Skilled Fire & Security Engineer to join our growing team covering South Yorkshire and surrounding areas. Working closely with and reporting directly to the Service Manager, the role will primarily involve day-to-day service calls, as well as system commissioning when required.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to develop their skills within a supportive environment where manufacturer training and professional development are encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service and commissioning of security systems (training provided where required)
  • Attending reactive and scheduled service fault calls, including planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits
  • Carrying out small works and installation tasks when required
  • Working with IP-based systems, requiring strong IP and IT proficiency
  • Commissioning and servicing CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems
  • Supporting installation projects and commissioning activities where required
  • Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders during project works
  • Collating commissioning information and assisting with Operation & Maintenance (O&M) documentation
  • Assisting colleagues and supporting other engineers with technical site issues when necessary
  • Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety policies at all times
  • Participating in the on-call rota

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Experience servicing and commissioning security systems
  • Strong IP networking and IT knowledge
  • Experience with CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage service calls effectively
  • CSCS, ECS or equivalent certification

Desirable

  • Experience with IP networks
  • Experience with enterprise-level access control systems
  • Experience with public space CCTV
  • Fire system knowledge or experience
  • IPAF licence

Working Hours

  • Standard hours: 08:30 – 17:00 Monday to Friday
  • Minimum 40 hours per week
  • Flexibility required between 06:30 and 18:30
  • Overtime paid for hours worked above 40 per week
  • Occasional overnight stays may be required due to the geographical area covered
