Principal Fire Engineer
A growing fire engineering consultancy is looking for a Principal Fire Engineer to join their UK team. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex fire safety projects across the built environment within a collaborative and forward‑thinking technical environment. The consultancy delivers specialist fire safety advice across multiple sectors, supporting clients throughout the full project lifecycle to help create safer buildings.
Responsibilities
- Lead large or technically complex fire engineering projects across multiple stages of the project lifecycle.
- Act as Project Manager for major commissions, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to high technical standards.
- Manage and mentor Fire Engineers and support their professional development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
- Contribute to business development through repeat work and identifying new opportunities.
- Manage project resources, budgets, risk, and commercial performance.
- Stay informed on fire safety legislation, codes, and industry best practice.
Qualifications
- Engineering Council accredited BEng (Hons), MEng, MSc, or equivalent qualification.
- Membership of a relevant professional body such as IFE, CABE, or Engineers Ireland.
- Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong client‑facing consultancy experience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor engineering teams.
