Job Description:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, strategic, and highly organised Events Manager to join us on a fixed-term contract. You’ll play a key role in shaping, delivering, and evaluating events and campaigns that strengthen our brand, support our clients, and help us reach new audiences.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves bringing ideas to life, building strong relationships, and creating meaningful experiences – both in person and online.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, budgeting, and end-to-end delivery of in-person and virtual events for designated divisions and branches.
  • Provide line management to the Senior Marketing & Events Executive for B2B: setting objectives, supporting development, offering regular feedback, and leading appraisal processes.
  • Work closely with the Head of Events & Sponsorship and fellow Event Managers to coordinate event reporting and measurement. Partner with the Analyst and Reporting Manager to deliver insightful performance reports.
  • Oversee budgets, contracts, invoices, and expenditure for the B2B channel.
  • Manage day-to-day marketing activity and budgets for allocated divisions and branches.
  • Write and edit compelling copy for event and marketing collateral, including invitations, letters, social posts, editorial, and reports.
  • Use data, creativity, and commercial insight to propose new event, sponsorship, and campaign ideas.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of event management processes to ensure clear, consistent ways of working across the team.
  • Produce comprehensive post-event reports and support wider marketing evaluation where relevant.
  • Attend events – including occasional evenings and supporting set-up, guest experience, logistical coordination, and close-down.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring all communications reflect our tone, visual identity, and strategic direction.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or equivalent experience in marketing, events, communications, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in marketing and events, ideally within financial services or another regulated industry.
  • Previous line management or mentoring experience.
  • Experience delivering webinars, ideally via Zoom.

Skills & Attributes

  • Event expertise: Proven ability to lead events from concept to delivery, with strong project management skills.
  • Excellent written communication: Confident writing and proofing for a range of audiences and channels.
  • Highly organised: Able to balance multiple projects, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Self‑starter: Comfortable working autonomously and using initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: Able to build positive relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Commercial awareness: Ability to understand our products, services, audiences, and competitive landscape — and translate insights into meaningful activity.
  • Team player: Willing to collaborate, support colleagues, and contribute to shared goals across the Marketing team.
