Job Description – Founding Chief Technology Officer (Clean Energy Tech)
WTalent is partnering with an ambitious Clean Energy technology venture to appoint a Founding Chief Technology Officer who will shape the technical vision and build the platform powering the next generation of energy innovation.
This is a rare opportunity to join at the earliest stage of a mission-driven company focused on accelerating the transition to a more sustainable energy system. As CTO, you will define the technology strategy, architect the core platform, and build a high-performing engineering team from the ground up.
You will work closely with the founders to translate product vision into scalable, secure, and high-impact technology. The role combines hands‑on technical leadership with long‑term platform strategy.
Key technical responsibilities:
- Architect and build a scalable cloud‑native platform on AWS
- Design data pipelines for high‑volume energy, IoT, and market data
- Lead development using microservices and API‑first architecture
- Establish DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure‑as‑code
- Implement secure, resilient systems using AWS services (Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, EventBridge)
- Build real‑time processing and analytics capabilities
- Ensure platform security, observability, and reliability at scale
