Scope of Work

Kent is actively seeking a highly experienced Lead Process Safety Engineer – Outside IR35 on a 12-month contract, to provide expert support to a client. The successful candidate will be based onsite at the client’s office in Aberdeen and will play a key role in leading process safety initiatives and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong background in process safety to make a significant impact within a dynamic and safety-focused organisation.

Deliverables

  • Executing Safety Engineering activities and deliverables.
  • Providing technical leadership on bespoke safety studies such as QRA, Formal Safety Assessments, COMAH, DSEAR, consequence analysis using DNV Phast, Safety Case/COMAH etc.
  • Authorship, review, and approval of technical reports.
  • Ensure the agreed scope of work or studies are completed within the allocated timeframe.
  • Facilitation of/participation in HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and other risk management workshops.
  • Preparing technical reports to a high standard

Key Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering (or related) subject.
  • Chartered with a relevant institution.
  • Extensive experience working in Process/Technical Safety, preferably in the Energy industry.
  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of QRA and other safety techniques, including consequence analysis (preferably PHAST software), with proven experience in conducting such studies.
  • Familiar with relevant legislation and industry standards and able to apply this knowledge and advise clients in relation to these, such as COMAH and Safety Case Regulations etc.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent time-management skills with proven ability to work to deadlines.
  • Experienced in leading multidisciplinary teams of engineers in delivery of complex technical work scopes.
