About the role:
This role sits within the Funding and Exchange Squad. The primary mission is to reduce operational incidents by implementing robust end-to-end integration tests that bring stability to our trading and risk components.
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will transition beyond generic testing to build a scalable automated testing framework specifically for our exchange trading stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Stability Engineering: Implement end-to-end integration tests specifically designed to stabilize trading and risk components
- Framework Scaling: Assess and improve the existing automated testing framework to ensure it is user-friendly and scalable for the exchange trading stack
- Integration Testing: Take ownership of testing integrations with external sources and specific exchange integrations
- Issue Investigation: Assist support and development teams in reproducing and investigating complex production issues across the system stack
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work as a key member of the agile Funding and Exchange team, satisfying internal quality goals and visibility requirements for risk teams and regulators
Required Skills & Experience:
- Finance Background: Extensive experience in technical testing within a financial services or high-frequency trading environment
- Exchange Integration: Proven track record of testing integrations with external sources, specifically Exchange integrations
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to code in Java and develop Java-based test automation frameworks for complex systems
- Risk-Based Analysis: Expert test analysis and test case creation with a strict focus on risk-based outcomes
- System Stack Knowledge: Experience investigating complex issues across a full system stack
Preferred Skills:
- Language Versatility: Knowledge of Python, Rust, or KDB/Q
- Infrastructure: Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and middleware like Redis
- Protocols: Deep understanding of trading protocols including FIX, REST APIs, and Websockets
- Domain Interest: A keen interest in the evolution of trading systems and the crypto industry
