Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer

An expanding, employee-owned engineering and environmental consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer to strengthen its Leeds-based team. This role offers the chance to play a key part in delivering complex land quality and ground investigation projects across the UK while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the continued growth of the geoenvironmental division.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer will be leading the planning and execution of ground investigation and land quality assessments
  • Managing site works, including supervising drilling contractors and overseeing health and safety compliance
  • Preparing and reviewing Phase 1 Desk Studies and Phase 2 Ground Investigation reports
  • Producing interpretative reports, risk assessments and remediation strategies
  • Designing and implementing groundwater and ground gas monitoring programmes
  • Liaising with clients, regulators and project stakeholders throughout project delivery
  • Assisting with project management, cost control and programme coordination

Candidate Requirements

  • A degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Relevant industry experience within contaminated land or ground investigation consultancy
  • Strong technical report writing and data interpretation skills
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required
  • Eligibility to work in the UK without restriction
  • Ideally based in or able to commute to the Leeds area
