About the Role

A growing development planning and infrastructure consultancy is seeking a Transport Planner to support an increasing project workload through 2025 and 2026. You will join a busy team of engineers, planners and technicians, working on a broad range of private sector planning projects while developing your technical skills and progressing toward chartered status. Hybrid working is supported.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Feasibility Studies and Travel Plans
  • Undertake traffic generation and distribution analysis
  • Carry out junction capacity modelling and interpret associated datasets
  • Undertake site visits, accessibility assessments and active travel audits
  • Assist with multi-modal access strategies and off-site highway improvements
  • Work with AutoCAD, GIS, TRICS, TEMPRO and junction modelling software
  • Collaborate with colleagues in related engineering and environmental teams
  • Support senior staff with day-to-day project delivery across multiple clients

About You

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Geography or a related discipline
  • MSc in Transport Planning is beneficial but not essential
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in development planning, preferably in consultancy
  • Experience in feasibility work, access strategies, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and preliminary highway design
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and keen to learn within a busy team environment
  • Understanding of MfS, DMRB and planning-related design guidance
  • Strong numeracy, analytical skills and report writing ability
  • Experience with CAD, GIS and key transport software such as ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG and Excel
