Job Summary

Clinical and product support of Cardiology (Fixed‑Term Contract) will include strategic reference sites within the UK. This role will focus on Cardiology products and solutions to drive forward business and support for this area of the company’s product range.

The Cardiology Clinical Product Support Specialist (CPSS) is a professional who supports Field Sales and Service in providing trial, sales, marketing, education and clinical expertise during pre‑sale, installation, and post‑sale activities. The CPSS consults with the customer and sales team during the planning and tender process, developing bids and education programmes to meet our customers’ unique needs and expectations. The CPSS provides support during trial, bid and installation, delivering education to customers on the clinical application of the products. Clinical input is provided by the CPSS to appropriate personnel on product issues, customer feedback and training materials.

The CPSS will be measured against quarterly and annual work objectives that are consistent with meeting the company’s goals. Works under general supervision and exercises independent judgment functioning within approved guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Be fully competent in the application and operation of all Spacelabs’ Cardiology products in all care environments.
  • Understand the technicalities and language of Cardiology solutions.
  • Cascade to Sales & Service colleagues’ information on Cardiology solutions, including the capability of having an educated technical / networking discussion with IT professionals and others within the hospital.
  • Work various shifts as deemed necessary for successful pre‑sales demonstrations, evaluation and/or installation.
  • Provide customer, new hirer, Sales Representatives, and other staff members training on all clinical applications of equipment specific to the employee or care area. Categories of training provided are informative (general staff), Basic User, Competency Based, Train the Trainer (customers and caregivers) and full sales & support training for the Cardiology UK Sales force and distributors.
  • Run and organize monthly off‑site customer training courses, update & enhance course material as per product changes.
  • Provide on‑going product and clinical updates for the UK & Sales Team and occasionally EMEA Spacelabs distributors as and when requested to do so.
  • Utilise efficient time management and cost containment in all activities.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and positive approach when interacting with colleagues, Sales Team members, and customers.
  • Work closely with the Sales/Service/and Technical Support staff.
  • Communicate all relevant customer information including product and/or customer problems or opportunities to appropriate internal business area personnel, including dealing with non‑compliance issues under the Company Quality system.
  • Contribute to new product development by providing clinical feedback on projects to the R&D teams in Edinburgh, UK, utilizing the Agile system to sign off products pre‑release.
  • Provide sign‑off and contribute effectively to all Global QMS Cardiology clinical issues as part of the Global Risk Assessment team.
  • Provide timely and complete reports of activity as required.
  • Represent Spacelabs Healthcare as the technology leader and vendor of choice through regular product presentations, evaluations, customer training and sales calls as required by the company.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge on Spacelabs’ products and competitive products.
  • Participate in any educational meetings at professional trade shows and National meetings, also on occasion handling setup, stand management, and disassembly of such events.
  • Submit accurate reports regarding expenses and activities.
  • Maintain all assets (i.e., company‑issued laptop, vehicles, etc.) in good condition and properly document and report all activity.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree in a technical, science or business discipline desirable or proven Clinical and/or commercial track record in the immediate Medical Industry or similar.
  • It is essential that the role holder is a Cardiac Department Practitioner; with proven Cardiology experience/SCST member may be considered.
  • Extensive Clinical experience in diagnostic Cardiology.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of an organisation effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills: listening, written, verbal.
  • Ability to be flexible and to travel to all UK locations as directed by your Line Manager.
  • Demonstrate effective presentation skills and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience of dealing with Quality systems procedures and identifying non‑compliance issues would be advantageous.
  • Computer experience, including PowerPoint, word processing and use of Internet communications. Previous use of the Agile system desirable.
  • Extensive travel may be required.
  • Customer facing 70% to 90% of the time.
  • Successful completion of Spacelabs training required. Must become fully competent in the application and operation of all Cardiology products.
  • May be required to work long days on occasion as necessary for successful installation and training.
  • May be required to register with a vendor credentialing service. As part of this process, s/he may be required to submit personal information to a credentialing service company, provide proof of vaccinations or related medical information, and comply with other requirements needed to work at customer sites.
  • Previous experience with Spacelabs Cardiology equipment desirable.
  • Location preferably SW/W London, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Coventry.
