A well-established precision engineering company, operating from modern facilities with a strong order book. They specialise in high precision components for demanding sectors. They are now seeking an experienced EDM Operator to join their skilled team.
Key Responsibilities as an EDM Operator:
Program, set and operate EDM sparking and wire machinesProduce precision components to tight tolerancesWork from engineering drawings, including geometric tolerancesCarry out first-off and in-process inspectionsSet machine parameters to optimise performanceMaintain accurate production and inspection recordsTroubleshoot machine and process issuesKeep machines and work areas clean and organised (5S)Follow job packs and complete operations as requiredReport progress and issues to the Cell Lead
Requirements for the EDM Operator:
Proven experience as an EDM Setter, Operator or ProgrammerAbility to read and interpret technical drawingsExperience working with precision componentsKnowledge of machining various materials (e.g. stainless, duplex, nickel alloys)Good attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerancesBasic IT skills for data entry and record keepingAble to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable experience for the EDM Operator role:
Experience with Sodick machines or programmingBackground in precision engineering environments
