We are currently recruiting for a Systems / Project Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on complex technical programms within highly regulated sectors.
This is a long-term opportunity to work on a major defence-related naval project, expected to run for the next 3-5 years, supporting the design, delivery and lifecycle management of critical engineering systems.
Working closely with the Project Manager and senior engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of technically challenging projects, coordinating with customers, suppliers and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting the design and development of complex engineering systems
- Producing and managing system specifications, architecture and interfaces
- Providing technical oversight across hardware, software and electrical elements
- Ensuring systems meet customer and regulatory requirements through verification and validation
- Identifying and managing technical risks across project stages
- Preparing technical reports and documentation
- Supporting customers and internal teams with technical queries and system support
- Managing and maintaining system requirements and traceability
What we’re looking for
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Systems Engineering or another STEM discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Experience working within engineering projects, ideally in regulated or defence-related environments
- Knowledge of systems engineering processes and engineering lifecycle management
- Experience using AutoCAD or Inventor
- Strong technical documentation and stakeholder communication skills
- Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to undergo DBS and BPSS clearance and hold a UK or dual UK passport.
