We’re supporting our client, a global leader in technology transformation in the search for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their team based in Staines, London.
This is a hands-on role that offers a unique opportunity to oversee financial reporting submissions, manage day-to-day accounting operations, and lead a small team. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing two business units, internal IT recharges across the Group, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Financial Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and submitting monthly reports and associated schedules for the APPS business unit.
- Reviewing and submitting monthly reports and associated schedules for the Renewables business unit.
- Overseeing and reviewing monthly IT internal recharges.
- Managing and controlling monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Submitting figures in the consolidation pack
- Controlling month-end journal postings, including WIP, prepayments, accruals, and holiday provisions for business units.
- Ensuring DAS and REN projects and WIP comply with accounting standards related to revenue recognition.
- Reconciling monthly management accounts.
- Producing monthly management analytic reports.
- Managing half-year reviews and year-end statutory audits for the relevant business units.
- Preparing annual budgets in collaboration with Business Unit Directors for the relevant business units.
- Ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies and internal controls.
- Supervising, managing, and mentoring two team members.
- Providing ad-hoc support to the Finance Director and CFO.
Qualifications
Education and Professional Certification
- A degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- Fully qualified or in the final stages of qualification as an Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Experience
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a project-driven accounting environment (e.g., T&M, FP, hardware/software sales).
- Familiarity with Sage 50 is advantageous but not essential.
