Overview
Please note that you will be required to drive as part of your role and you will need to have a full driving licence, with no more than 3 points, to be considered for this position.
Responsibilities
- Activities and resources involved in the identification and evaluation of asset data and needs in order to develop early solutions, in line with agreed methodologies and prioritisation criteria.
- Development of CD622 geotechnical reports.
- Prepare briefs and support delivery of survey works, including ground investigation specifications, that support the renewal and/or improvement of assets.
- Preliminary design of Geotech renewals and maintenance schemes.
- Development of forward works programme.
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering / Geology or a qualification of a similar discipline.
- Membership of a professional body (e.g. ICE) or working towards membership (essential).
- Demonstrable experience in geotechnical engineering and/or engineering geology with excellent knowledge of ground investigation techniques / experience in scoping ground investigations and developing ground models.
- Proven ability in producing geotechnical reports including desk studies and interpretative reports, preferably with a good knowledge of CD622 reporting process.
- Knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards, methods of working & Specification for Highway Works.
