A Vacancy at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced and friendly Biomedical Scientist to join the Cellular Pathology team at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital.
Qualifications
- Suitably qualified and experienced HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with post registration experience in Biomedical Science.
- Relevant professional qualification to degree level or equivalent, and hold a relevant MSc or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead BMS and other senior grade staff in management of department sections.
- Manage and deploy staff within a section(s) of work assigned.
- Ensure adherence to Trust policies such as health and safety, HR personnel.
- Deputise for the Lead BMS for Cellular Pathology at RJAH in their absence and take direct responsibility for the department.
- Provide cover for other Senior Specialists within the department.
- Perform and understand interpretation of a wide range of specialist laboratory tests.
- Day‑to‑day management and supervision of a section(s) of work or group of staff.
- Provide highly specialist advice to clinicians and other service users.
- Deliver training to Specialist Diploma level within area of expertise.
- Lead a specialist section and ensure technical performance is of the highest standard.
- Undertake equipment evaluation and selection/adaptation of methodologies.
- Drive service improvements and innovation within specialist section.
