Job Description:

Job Title: Product Engineer Location: Sheffield (Hybrid) Salary: Up to £50k (DOE)    We’re looking for an innovative Product Engineer to join a rapidly growing technology business. The position will support the scale-up of an existing product while contributing to the development of a new product line. It is a pivotal role within the product lifecycle, offering involvement from early concept through to production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across engineering, commercial, and operations to ensure successful product development and delivery. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.    About the Role

  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities related to manufacturability, including yield optimisation, cost of goods reduction, test coverage, limit setting, guard banding, and test release
  • Contribute to decisions around development or sourcing of key technologies such as assembly, testing, and burn-in solutions
  • Review and contribute to product reliability test plans
  • Work closely with production test engineering teams to implement product and test solutions at external manufacturing partners
  • Monitor and track product performance against specifications throughout the full lifecycle
  • Support production ramp-up and maintain yield performance across the product lifetime
  • Analyse yield issues, working with subcontractors and internal teams to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions
  • Manage non-conforming materials and support disposition decisions
  • Contribute to failure analysis and resolution of field returns
  • Act as a technical point of contact for external assembly and test partners
  • Carry out product characterisation and testing within a laboratory environment
  • Perform detailed data analysis and reporting

About you

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a product engineering role
  • Proven experience supporting products through the full NPI lifecycle, from definition to production release
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
  • Experience working with external manufacturing partners or subcontractors
