Operations Manager – Fire & Security

Hatfield, Hertfordshire  Up to £70,000 + Bonus + Car/Allowance + Benefits

A leading fire and security specialist in Hertfordshire is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee service and project delivery across a growing technical team. This senior leadership role suits someone who has managed managers, understands the demands of life safety systems, and can drive operational performance across multiple functions.

The Role – Operations Manager – Fire & Security

You will take full ownership of day-to-day operations, ensuring service and installation teams deliver high-quality work safely, efficiently, and in line with industry standards. Working closely with senior leadership, you will shape processes, develop people, and support the company’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities – Operations Manager – Fire & Security

–     Lead and develop service and project managers across fire and/or security disciplines.

–     Oversee operational performance, resource planning, and workflow management.

–     Ensure compliance with relevant standards and best practice across all works.

–     Drive continuous improvement across processes, systems, and team capability.

–     Maintain strong client relationships and act as a senior point of escalation.

–     Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of operational staff.

–     Report on KPIs, performance, and operational strategy to the senior team.

Requirements – Operations Manager – Fire & Security

–     Background in Fire or Security service or project operations.

–     Experience managing managers, not just engineers.

–     Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

–     Ability to drive performance and implement operational improvements.

–     Commutable to the Hatfield area.
