We are currently supporting a top tier law firm in Manchester, seeking a Commercial Legal Director to join its busy and growing commercial disputes team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented senior lawyer to work on a wide range of high-value and complex disputes while developing their career in a collaborative and supportive environment.
About the Role
- Work as a senior memberof a strong, diverse team of commercial disputes lawyers handling high-profile and varied cases across multiple sectors.
- Collaborate closely with senior lawyers and partners on client-facing matters, including strategic case management and dispute resolution.
- Participate in cross-border and multi-jurisdictional disputes, gaining exposure to arbitration, mediation, litigation, and other alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Develop business and client relationshipscontributing to the growth and success of the team.
- Develop, support and mentor more junior lawyers in a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Team
- Recognised as a market-leading practice in Manchester, handling a wide spectrum of disputes including finance, fraud, construction, insurance, IT, media, intellectual property, competition, property, and tax-related matters.
- Clients include large corporates, public sector bodies, and high-net-worth individuals across a range of industries such as retail, transport, digital, healthcare, industrial, energy, and financial services.
- Collaborative environment, often working closely with colleagues from other practice areas to provide comprehensive, client-focused solutions.
Candidate Profile
- Ideally 8 years plus PQE from a commercial firm, operating within a recognised litigation team.
- Broad experience in handling complex commercial disputes.
- Commercial awareness, common sense, and a proactive approach to commercial queries.
- Business development and client relationship management skills, and contributing to the wider success of the team.
- Experience of supporting, supervising and mentoring more junior colleagues.
