Scope of the Role
As a Senior Design Engineer, you’ll add technical judgement early, then own delivery through manufacture. You’ll work with industrial design, suppliers, and stakeholders to reduce risk and move faster.
- Develop products from concept to manufacture.
- Assess feasibility, trade‑offs, risk, and delivery routes.
- Produce CAD, drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
- Apply DFM across plastics, metals, and assemblies.
- Engage UK and international suppliers through sampling and pre‑production.
Key Skills and Experience Required
- Proven Senior Design Engineer, Product Design Engineer, or Mechanical Design Engineer on physical consumer products.
- End‑to‑end NPD, from early concept to release.
- Strong DFM judgement, cost/quality trade‑offs, supplier collaboration.
- Communicate trade‑offs clearly to non‑engineers.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and field insight when useful.
