About Us:

Founded over 40 years ago with a vision to unite collectors, drivers, and enthusiasts, Motor Racing Legends is one of the most distinctive organisations in historic motorsport. On the track, the action is a celebration of ten decades of racing history, from the pre-war machines of the 1920s through to GT cars of the 2010s.

Alongside, Motor Racing Legends we operate a group of complementary brands including HRDC and Rewind Tour Britain. Together, we deliver high-quality race weekends, livestreams, membership-driven experiences and commercial partnerships for collectors, competitors and fans across the UK and Europe.

We’re a small, hands-on team that values clarity, craftsmanship and great stories, both on and off the circuit.

Job Overview:

You will lead a small but experienced marketing & communications team, shaping strategy and personally execute high-impact campaigns. This role combines strategic leaderships with hands‑on execution. You will manage a compact team and external partners, build competitor insight and development of the MRL Community, create and deliver a communications calendar, and produce content, storyboards for livestreams, and targeted outreach to clients and prospects. German or French language skills are advantageous but not essential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define and lead group‑wide marketing & communications strategy across Motor Racing Legends, HRDC and Rewind Tour Britain.
  • Manage, mentor and coordinate a compact team (in‑house plus freelance / agency partners) to deliver campaigns, content and event comms.
  • Plan and manage the communications calendar (PR, social, email, web, partner comms) aligned with commercial and event calendars.
  • Strengthen the MRL community by developing communications and content that engages competitors and fans.
  • Competitor and market analysis: track rivals, audience trends and sponsorship landscape to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Drive messaging and targeting: craft clear, compelling value propositions for clients, prospects and membership segments; ensure consistency across brands.
  • Client communications: confidently “quieten the noise” from third parties, provide clear messaging on delicate issues such as eligibility and driving standards handle enquiries.
  • Work with live streaming & content production partners: develop storyboards and runbooks for livestreams, coordinate technical delivery and produce on‑the‑day content (video, social clips, interviews).
  • Performance measurement: set KPIs (reach, engagement, leads, conversions), report on ROI and optimise campaigns.
  • Stakeholder management: work with commercial, operations and customer service teams to align messaging and deliverables.
  • Crisis & issues management: rapid, composed communications when incidents occur.
  • Budget management: allocate and oversee marketing budgets, agency spend and production costs.

Candidate profile / required skills

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in marketing and communications; experience leading a small team in lifestyle/events/sports/media preferred.
  • Strong copywriting, PR and content production skills; experience working with livestream or production partners.
  • Competent in audience targeting, CRM‑driven email marketing, social platforms, and basic analytics (Google Analytics, native social insights).
  • Skilled at competitor analysis and using insight to inform strategy.
  • Excellent stakeholder and client‑facing communication; able to manage external noise and explain processes clearly and persuasively.
  • Hands‑on, proactive, able to produce content and operate under event pressure.
  • Strong project management and budget discipline.
  • European languages advantageous but not essential.
  • Interest in cars and heritage racing.

What we offer:

  • Competitive compensation plus performance‑related commission where applicable
  • Event‑driven, varied role with strong creative scope
  • Opportunities to work at historic race meetings and collaborate with industry partners
  • Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options
