A leading international testing and certification organisation is seeking an experienced IoT/IIoT Cybersecurity Engineer to join its growing cybersecurity team. You will be hands‑on in technical assessments, penetration testing and product certification, supporting global technology manufacturers – wired and wireless IoT/IIoT devices, smart systems, and embedded solutions.
Role Focus
- Conduct cybersecurity assessments per current international standards (e.g. EN 303 645, NIST 8259, EN 18031‑x series, NIST CSF)
- Deliver bespoke penetration testing (hardware, firmware, web/mobile applications)
- Deep dive into threat modelling, code review, firmware analysis and reverse engineering using industry tools
- Develop and scale robust product certification frameworks for clients
- Design client‑focused test programmes
- Take part in regulatory and standards committees; drive best practice in IoT/IIoT security
Technical Requirements
- Proven practical experience in IoT device penetration testing (hardware/software, embedded systems)
- Scripting (Python, Ruby, LUA, PowerShell, Bash) and at least one compiled language (Java, C, C#)
- Proficiency with security testing and vulnerability analysis toolsets
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and evidence‑based security controls (encryption, secure boot, access control)
- Security testing automation and code review
- Experience implementing vulnerability and patch management, threat intelligence processes
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Cybersecurity or related field or equivalent certifications
- Additional certifications (e.g. OWASP, OSCP, CISSP) highly advantageous
- Strong communication skills (client engagement and reporting)
- Understanding of full product development/test lifecycle in connected devices
