Apply for the AWS Cloud Software Engineer
Location: Cambridge
Job Description:

Grow your career and cloud engineering expertise with this top employer.

This company develops high quality market‑management software, used throughout the UK and Europe to ensure critical services are delivered reliably. They are seeking a talented Cloud Engineer to join their friendly team of developers, product owners and testers. Their success relies on the dependability of their cloud‑based products, providing round‑the‑clock access to their clients.

You will be involved with the design, development, and maintenance of AWS infrastructure, employing a variety of technologies such as Infrastructure as Code and workflow automation. Your solutions would help ensure fast and efficient deployment to multiple environments.

Role Responsibilities

Once up to speed, your role will encompass maintaining and improving the existing architecture, ensuring the security and dependability of cloud‑based services, employing automation and IaC to support multiple environments, monitoring and troubleshooting performance, and collaborating with and mentoring colleagues. You will also need to be comfortable providing on‑call support (typically this can be 1 week in 4).

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a cloud engineer, providing support within an operational environment, with sustained tenure with employers.
  • A good understanding of cloud technology, preferably AWS, and skills in a good selection of the following areas: networking, DNS, containerization, database management, automation and scripting, IaC, Terraform, or CI/CD.
  • Good troubleshooting and logical thinking skills to diagnose issues and identify root causes.
  • Excellent communications skills, able to work within a team or independently, and comfortable providing on‑call support.
  • Full existing rights to work in the UK, without time limit.

Team & Work Environment

Team fit is important, as the company is looking to hire someone who wants to grow their career within them for the next few years. They are located in Cambridge, and whilst there is some scope for hybrid working (1‑2 days WFH when projects allow), they are seeking candidates who can reliably attend onsite meetings in person. On offer is an excellent remuneration package commensurate with skills and experience.

Please apply (quoting ref: CV27561) only if you are eligible to live and work in the UK. By submitting your details you certify that the information you provide is accurate.
