Summary
- The MASH Information Officer is a pivotal role within the Children’s Social Care and Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). This position ensures that all contacts and referrals are processed accurately and promptly, adhering to statutory guidance. As the first point of contact for the public and partner agencies, the officer provides consultation, advice, and directs individuals to appropriate services. The role is crucial for maintaining high-quality data management, supporting safeguarding processes, and contributing to the continuous improvement of Children’s Services.
Responsibilities
- Process all MASH and Children’s Social Care contacts and referrals within agreed timescales, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory guidance.
- Maintain good data quality, ensuring information is reliable, valid, timely, and accurate.
- Action and archive all incoming correspondence promptly, escalating safeguarding concerns immediately to the Duty Manager.
- Serve as the first point of contact for members of the public and partner agencies via phone, email, letters, and face-to-face communication.
- Experience managing referrals within Children’s Services.
- Experience working with multiple agencies to deliver holistic support.
- Direct experience working with service users, including sensitive and complex situations.
Essential Qualifications
- Strong understanding of current issues in social work practice and services that safeguard children and young people.
Additional Information
- Working hours: 36 hours per week
- Work pattern: To be confirmed – 2 days in the office, 3 days remote
