QA Automation Engineer
London – 2 days in the office. Up to £60,000 plus benefits.

You will help shape a modern test automation function, working with advanced tooling, AI‑assisted approaches, and a microservices architecture to improve reliability, performance, and delivery speed.

The Role
- Develop and enhance automated test suites to reduce manual testing.
- Contribute to the delivery of a modern financial technology product in a scale‑up setting.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and QA peers to ensure clarity, consistency, and testability of requirements.
- Use AI tools to accelerate test creation, debugging, and synthetic data generation.
- Plan, design, and execute testing across smoke, regression, functional, and performance areas.
- Create and maintain test documentation.
- Work within Agile squads, contributing to planning, estimation, and continuous improvement.
- Support the adoption and expansion of test automation across the wider QA community.
Your Skills and Experience
- Strong commercial experience in QA automation using Java or Kotlin.
- Hands‑on use of AI tools to enhance productivity.
- A deep understanding of OOP principles.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web architecture.
- Strong API testing capability using tools such as RestAssured, Feign, Swagger, or Postman.
- Experience writing UI tests with Selenium, Selenide, or Playwright.
- Familiarity with TestNG, JUnit, and SQL for data validation.
- Experience with monitoring and debugging tools such as Sentry or Elasticsearch.
- Understanding of performance testing concepts and tools like JMeter or Gatling.
- Experience using test management systems (for example TestRail) and project tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitHub Actions.
- Experience working in an Agile, fast‑paced environment, ideally with microservices.
