Our client, a leader in the Places & Communities sector, is seeking a commercially-driven Procurement Buyer to join their growing team.
In this pivotal role, you will act as a “Business Partner” and trusted advisor, bridging the gap between site contracts and the wider procurement function. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who excels at maximizing financial value while maintaining seamless supplier transactions.
The Role at a Glance:
- Manage the end-to-end procurement of plant and materials, ensuring delivery aligns with site programs and cost targets.
- Participate in Design Team Meetings to influence specifications toward the most advantageous solutions.
- Build excellent rapport with suppliers and act as a conduit for multiple site contracts.
- Contribute to the development of purchasing procedures and resolve complex invoice queries to maintain supply chain health.
Key Requirements:
- At least 2 years experience working within the construction sector.
- A proven track record in plant and material scheduling with strong industry/sector knowledge.
- Proficient in MS Office and Evision, SAP or other ERP systems; disciplined in meeting tight deadlines.
- High commercial awareness, excellent negotiation skills, and a valid UK driving license.
