Attendance & Safeguarding Officer (Secondary School – Liverpool)
We’re Hiring: Attendance & Safeguarding Officer to join a dedicated secondary school team in Liverpool.
About the Role
You will play a key role in improving whole-school attendance and supporting safeguarding procedures.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and analysing attendance data to identify areas of concern
- Working closely with pupils, staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to reduce absence
- Following up on unexplained absences and managing attendance procedures, including letters, clinics, and penalty notices
- Supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead, including monitoring CPOMS and taking appropriate action
- Maintaining accurate, secure records and contributing to safeguarding processes
- Managing attendance data for the school census
Qualifications
- Experience in a school-based attendance or administrative role (minimum 1 year)
- Strong understanding of safeguarding in education
- Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Confidence working with data and identifying barriers to attendance
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Location: Liverpool
Contract: Full-Time (Term-Time Only – 38 weeks)
Salary: £31,172 – £32,737 (pro rata, NJC Scale SCP26-28)
