What will you be doing?

  • Design HVAC systems including ductwork, piping and equipment layouts
  • Carry out heating and cooling load calculations using industry standard software
  • Select HVAC equipment and produce detailed technical specifications
  • Develop design drawings and documentation using AutoCAD, Revit or similar
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations, CIBSE and BS EN standards
  • Work closely with project managers and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Attend site for inspections, commissioning and troubleshooting when required
  • Support cost estimation and procurement activities
  • Incorporate energy efficient and sustainable design principles
  • Keep up to date with new HVAC technologies and industry developments

What will you need?

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in HVAC design within a building services or engineering environment
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit MEP and BIM workflows
  • Experience with HVAC design tools such as Hevacomp or similar
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and heat transfer
  • Knowledge of CIBSE and relevant UK building standards
  • Ability to carry out detailed engineering calculations and problem solving
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ideally working towards or holding CEng or CIBSE membership
