Futures are currently recruiting for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join a fast-paced and well-established engineering team. This role is ideal for a multi-skilled engineer with both electrical and mechanical expertise, who thrives in a reactive and preventative maintenance environment. The successful Maintenance Technician will play a key role in ensuring minimal downtime by responding quickly to breakdowns and maintaining equipment to the highest standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical breakdowns across site equipment
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to improve reliability and performance
- Fault finding on electrical systems (motors, sensors, PLCs, control panels)
- Mechanical maintenance including bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, and hydraulics/pneumatics
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and increase efficiency
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role (electrical & mechanical)
- Strong fault-finding ability on both electrical and mechanical systems
- Electrically qualified (e.g. NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Experience working in a manufacturing / industrial environment preferred
- Basic understanding of PLCs (fault finding, not necessarily programming)
- Ability to work under pressure in a reactive breakdown environment
- Flexible approach to shifts / call-outs if required
