We’re hiring a DevOps Engineer to join an award-winning, fast-growing technology business in the telecom billing space. We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in AWS, Linux, and Python, who is passionate about building and optimising CI/CD pipelines. You will play a hands‑on role in supporting the migration and modernisation of services into AWS, helping us increase our cloud adoption in a secure, reliable, and scalable way. What you will be doing
You’ll work closely with development and operational teams to improve delivery, automation, and platform reliability, including:
- Designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes
- Supporting developers with tooling and automation that improves delivery speed and quality
- Managing and optimising AWS infrastructure, including ECS, EC2, S3, Aurora, RDS, IAM, and VPC
- Administering and troubleshooting Linux-based systems
- Writing shell scripts and Python automation tools
- Implementing monitoring and alerting using Datadog or similar platforms
- Deploying and managing containerised applications with Docker
- Monitoring performance, identifying bottlenecks, and improving availability and scalability
- Embedding DevOps best practices into the software development lifecycle
- Supporting security and compliance across both cloud and on‑prem environments
What we are looking for
We’re looking for someone with solid hands‑on DevOps or cloud infrastructure experience, ideally with:
- 3–5 years in a DevOps, platform, or cloud engineering role
- Strong experience with AWS and modern cloud architecture principles
- Good knowledge of ECS and AWS CodePipeline
- Confidence in Linux administration and shell scripting skills
- Hands‑on experience with Python for automation
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as CodePipeline, GitHub Actions
- Working knowledge of Terraform or CloudFormation
- Experience with Docker
- Familiarity with Node.js environments and PM2
- A proactive mindset, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work well with others and independently
Nice to have
- Experience with Grafana, Datadog or CloudWatch
- Understanding of networking and security best practices
- Exposure to Agile delivery and DevOps culture
- Experience with Ansible
Package
- Full‑time
- Hybrid working (2 to 3 days in the office) in Caterham, Surrey
- £50k to £60k, depending on experience
