A defence and national security technology organisation is hiring Infrastructure Engineers to support secure systems used in critical government programmes. Several roles are open across different experience levels.
You will help deliver and maintain operational platforms used in intelligence, defence and cyber environments. The work focuses on secure, mission critical systems and modern infrastructure.
This team works across DevSecOps, AI, machine learning, cyber and geospatial technologies. You will work with engineers, customers and suppliers to build and maintain secure systems.
The Role
You will support the design, deployment and maintenance of large scale systems. The role covers the full engineering lifecycle from early design through to delivery and acceptance.
Typical work includes system administration, troubleshooting and infrastructure deployment. You will also help resolve issues across applications, networks and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform system administration and backup tasks
- Support installation, maintenance and issue resolution
- Investigate application, network and service issues
- Translate system requirements into technical design
- Contribute to system design improvements
- Work with project teams to deliver technical outcomes
Skills and Experience
- Experience working in Agile, SCRUM or DevOps delivery environments
- Background in systems engineering on software intensive programmes
- Experience across the full engineering lifecycle
- Linux administration and deployment
- Understanding of server, storage and desktop hardware Ability to take ownership of technical delivery
- Must currently hold Enhanced DV clearance
- Linux environments such as RedHat or CentOS
- Windows Server and Active Directory administration
- Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform or Ansible
- Container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
- VMware vSphere / ESXi
- Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Atlassian tools
- Elasticsearch and Kibana
- Networking monitoring tools
- MongoDB
- Experience building enterprise web services
