Senior Desktop Engineer

A fast-paced, technology-driven trading firm based in London, supporting high-performance trading across global markets are seeking a highly skilled Senior Desktop Support Engineer to provide first-class technical support to front-office traders, quants, and business users. This is a hands-on, high-impact role in a demanding environment where responsiveness, precision, and strong technical expertise are essential.

You will act as a senior escalation point, lead support initiatives, and help drive continuous improvements across desktop and end-user services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide desktop support in a fast-paced trading environment
• Deliver white-glove support to front-office users, including traders and executives
• Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and networking issues with minimal downtime
• Support trading floor technologies, market data applications, and low-latency environments
• Manage and maintain Windows desktop environments (Windows 10/11)
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and user access controls
• Support Microsoft 365, collaboration tools, and endpoint management platforms
• Build, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and security teams
• Drive automation and process improvements within desktop support
• Maintain documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in desktop support, ideally within financial services or trading environments
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, hardware troubleshooting, and performance optimisation
• Experience supporting trading floor environments or high-pressure business users
• Solid understanding of:
• Active Directory & Group Policy
• Microsoft 365 / Exchange / Teams
• Experience with endpoint management tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with senior stakeholders
• Experience with market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters)
• Exposure to virtual desktop environments (VDI)
