Salary: £62,000 – £72,000 (depending on experience) + bonus and benefits

Location: Any Frazer-Nash Consultancy Office

Working Pattern: Flexible hybrid – office, client site, and home

We’re hiring a Senior Consultant – Safety Critical Software Assurance. If you secure this role, you’ll lead high-impact programmes, shape safety and certification strategy, and build your reputation as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in safety-critical software assurance.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee and execute safety-critical software assurance projects
  • Provide SME guidance on standards (IEC 61508, ARP4754/4761, DO-178, DO-254, DO-326, Def-Stan 00-055/056)
  • Produce and assure software safety artefacts across the V-lifecycle
  • Develop assurance strategies aligned to certification requirements
  • Mentor engineers and lead multi-disciplinary teams
  • Engage clients, shape opportunities, and support bid leadership

We’re Looking for Someone With

  • A degree in Aerospace, Engineering, Computer Science, Safety, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in safety-critical software development or assurance
  • Deep understanding of engineering lifecycles and assurance standards in the Defence domain
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver technically and engage senior stakeholders
  • Experience translating requirements into robust, certifiable solutions

Desirable

  • CEng/IEng (or working towards)
  • Consultancy, business development, or strategic planning experience
