Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst with a strong background in data migration and system replacement projects within the utilities domain. The ideal candidate will play a key role in analysing legacy systems, defining data requirements, and supporting end-to-end data migration activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse existing data structures, data sources, and business processes
• Assess legacy system data models, data quality, and usage patterns
• Gather and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements
• Define data mapping rules, transformation logic, and validation criteria
• Identify gaps between current and target data models
• Support the design of future‑state data models and migration strategies
• Work closely with business stakeholders to define data acceptance criteria
• Document data flows, data dictionaries, and process mappings
• Identify data cleansing, archiving, and quality improvement opportunities
• Assess risks and dependencies related to data migration
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
• Act as a bridge between business and technical teams
• Strong experience in business analysis for data migration and system replacement
• Good understanding of data modelling, data governance, and data quality
• Ability to analyse complex datasets and provide actionable insights
• Experience in data mapping, data flow documentation, and requirement gathering
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Experience

• Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience
• Prior experience in Utilities / Grid Management domain is preferred
