About The Role

The Thames Water Shared Apprenticeship Scheme is looking for a Project Management Apprentice in the Reading/Oxford area.

The scheme is a bespoke apprenticeship programme sponsored by Thames Water to address skills gaps within its supply chain. It includes a compulsory industry rotation so apprentices gain experience in different environments and increase chances of further employment in the sector.

Skills and Duties

A trainee project manager works closely with the project team and the Senior PM to deliver project outputs. Responsibilities include:

  • Leadership
  • Monitoring project progress
  • Stakeholder management
  • Cost control
  • Resource & task planning
  • Quality assurance
  • Risk & issue management
  • Reporting

Strong technical and soft skills are crucial for this role. Apprentices will also have the opportunity to attempt the Association for Project Management Project Management Qualification (APM PMQ).

Training and Working Hours

Typical working week is circa 40 hours per week, starting between 07:00 & 08:00, including paid 8 hours at college.

K10 will enrol you to the Level 4 Associate Project Management course and fund your qualifications through an accredited training provider. The apprenticeship lasts 18 months, with up to 6 months allocated for your End Point Assessment.

  • Can visit different sites and attend training days.
  • Curious, quick learner in a reactive, dynamic environment.
  • Can work in all weather conditions to serve customers and protect the environment.
  • Able to understand and follow health and safety protocols.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirement – English and Maths at GCSE Grade 4/C or above, or Functional Skills at Level 2 or above.

Desired Requirement – Enthusiasm and a strong interest in project management, with a desire to develop a career in the field.

Eligibility

  • Living in England for the last 3 years and have right to work status.
  • Not enrolled on any other courses.
  • 18+ due to site H&S rules.
  • Have a full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle.
