We’re Hiring – Business Development Manager / Estimator (Mechanical & Electrical)
ORB Mechanical & Electrical is growing, and we’re looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager / Estimator to join our team.
Based in Bristol, ORB delivers full-service mechanical and electrical packages across residential, commercial, and hospitality projects throughout the UK. We work closely with developers, main contractors, and investors to deliver high-quality M&E solutions from design through to completion.
As our pipeline continues to expand, we’re looking for someone who can help drive new opportunities while also managing the tender process from first conversation to contract award.
The Role
This is a hybrid role combining business development and estimating, ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships but also understands the commercial and technical side of M&E projects.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing new relationships with developers, contractors, and consultants
- Attending networking events and industry functions
- Entertaining and building long-term relationships with clients
- Working on both self-generated leads and opportunities provided by the company
- Managing the full tender process for M&E packages
- Pricing and preparing estimates and submissions
- Negotiating and securing projects
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience in Mechanical & Electrical estimating or commercial roles
- Strong industry relationships (preferred but not essential)
- Someone confident representing the business in front of clients
- Commercially minded with the ability to convert conversations into contracts
- Self-motivated and proactive in generating opportunities
This role could be full-time or, for the right candidate, part-time, offering flexibility depending on experience and the value they bring to the business.
