By maintaining organised inventory control and efficient stock management, the department ensures that the right materials are available at the right time, supporting smooth project workflows and reducing delays. Their role is key to operational efficiency and effective supply chain management.

Role Overview

The Logistics Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of all outsourced logistics activities relating to heavy lift and shift operations, crane hire procurement, abnormal load transport, and the movement of large modular plantrooms and plant from Ireland to Europe. The role does not directly operate vehicles or cranes but has full accountability for managing, coordinating, auditing, and performance‑controlling all subcontracted providers. The role also incorporates internal logistics management, including the movement of plantrooms and equipment between manufacturing facilities and satellite storage locations prior to dispatch to client sites. The Logistics Operations Manager acts as the central control point for all logistics planning and execution, ensuring safe delivery, cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and responsiveness to programme changes.

What You’ll be Doing

The role involves overseeing the full logistics lifecycle for heavy modular plantrooms and associated equipment, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost‑effective transport, lifting, storage, and delivery across Ireland and Europe. It includes managing end-to-end logistics operations, coordinating the movement of oversized units internationally and between storage sites, and aligning logistics with project and manufacturing schedules. The position requires sourcing and managing subcontractors such as crane hire, haulage, and storage providers, while monitoring performance, safety compliance, and commercial terms. Responsibilities also cover reviewing lift plans, validating lifting methods, and coordinating on‑site operations to meet safety regulations. Close collaboration with planners and commercial teams is essential to manage schedules, respond to changes, control costs, and maintain efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
