Software Engineer

We are looking for a talented Mid-Level Software Engineer to join a growing team based in Belfast. This role focuses on designing, building, and evolving the core systems behind a high-traffic digital platform. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working on high-availability systems, and contributing to the ongoing development of a mature, scalable product.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and maintainable backend systems
• Build and enhance APIs and services supporting web and mobile applications
• Contribute to architecture decisions and technical design discussions
• Write clean, high-quality code with strong test coverage
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams
• Support platform reliability, performance, security, and observability
• Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices
• Take ownership of features and deliver work to agreed timelines
• Drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, and development standards

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong backend development skills using modern languages and frameworks
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
• Familiarity with cloud-based or distributed systems
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
