About the Role
Social Care Placements Officers play a pivotal role in securing, coordinating and monitoring placements for children in care. You will work closely with social workers, placement providers and partner agencies to ensure placements are safe, suitable, cost‑effective and responsive to the assessed needs of children and young people.
Responsibilities
- Secure and coordinate placements for children in care
- Collaborate with social workers, providers and partner agencies
- Ensure placements are safe, suitable and cost‑effective
- Challenge poor practice and support colleagues and providers
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in social care, commissioning, placement‑finding or a related setting
- Strong negotiation and decision‑making skills
- Ability to work in fast‑paced environments
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong relationship building skills while ensuring compliance with statutory duties, policies and procedures
