Project Manager – HV Grid Connections / Solar / EPC

We’re working with a growing engineering contractor delivering HV grid connections and renewable energy infrastructure across the UK, and they are looking to appoint a Project Manager to lead delivery of a live solar project in the North West.
This role sits on the EPC / ICP delivery side of the industry and will suit someone who has managed substations, grid connections, cables or renewable energy projects and is comfortable running site-based projects through to commissioning and energisation.
The first project is a solar farm in Lancashire, with a strong pipeline of BESS, grid connection and HV infrastructure projects to follow.
The role
- Manage HV / grid connection projects from design handover to energisation
- Deliver substation, cabling and civil works packages
- Coordinate subcontractors, site teams and suppliers
- Work with DNO / ICP / client stakeholders
- Manage programme, cost and safety
- Support commissioning and final handover
Projects typically include:
- BESS / battery storage
- HV substations (33kV / 66kV / 132kV)
- Grid connections
- Transformers / switchgear / cables
- EPC / contestable works
Requirements
- Project Manager experience in power, utilities, renewables or HV construction
- Experience with substations, grid connections or HV electrical projects
- Experience on solar, BESS, wind or energy projects preferred
- Background with EPC, ICP, DNO or contractor organisations
- Happy working site-based during delivery
