The successful candidate will agree a regular weekly working pattern (typically three days per week) with the Directors. Once agreed, this will form the employee’s normal working schedule.

Role Purpose
The Business Development Executive will support the growth of Marches Ambulance Service by identifying new business opportunities and building relationships with organisations that require professional event medical provision.
The role focuses on prospecting, outreach, relationship development and opportunity management, helping introduce Marches Ambulance Service to sports venues, entertainment venues, schools and event organisers across the region.
Over time the role may develop to include proposal preparation and support with event medical planning, providing a pathway to a broader commercial role within the organisation.

Marches Ambulance Service is a Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered ambulance service rated GOOD, providing professional medical cover for events, venues and organisations across the region.
The organisation delivers services to a wide range of clients including sporting venues, festivals, entertainment events, schools and community organisations.
Demand for regulated and clinically governed event medical services continues to grow and the organisation is seeking to expand its partnerships across venues and institutions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development and Prospecting
The role will take ownership of identifying and targeting organisations that require event medical provision, with a clear focus on driving new business opportunities. This includes researching venues, institutions, and event organisers to build a strong understanding of the market and proactively uncover demand. The successful candidate will develop and maintain a robust prospect database, ensuring it remains accurate, up to date, and commercially valuable. They will also actively monitor activity within the events and venues sector, identifying emerging opportunities and positioning the organisation ahead of competitors.
Outreach and Lead Generation
A key responsibility will be generating high-quality leads through proactive outreach across multiple channels, including phone, email, and LinkedIn. The candidate will confidently introduce Marches Ambulance Service and articulate its offering in a clear and compelling manner. They will identify and engage with key decision-makers within target organisations, building early-stage relationships and creating opportunities for further engagement. This requires a professional, consistent approach to communication, with a focus on establishing credibility and trust from the outset.
Appointment Setting
The role will involve coordinating and securing meetings between prospective clients and senior leadership, ensuring opportunities are effectively progressed. The candidate will gather initial information on client requirements, enabling informed and tailored discussions at the next stage of the sales process. They will provide a clear and professional introduction to the organisation’s services, setting expectations and positioning the business as a credible and capable provider within the event medical sector.
Opportunity and Pipeline Management
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a structured and well-managed sales pipeline, ensuring all prospects and opportunities are accurately tracked and progressed. This includes recording communications, meetings, and follow-ups to maintain visibility and accountability across the sales process. They will ensure consistent and timely engagement with organisations considering services, keeping opportunities warm and moving them towards conversion while supporting overall business growth objectives.
Proposal and Sales Support
The role will include supporting the end‑to‑end sales process through the preparation of professional proposals and client‑facing information packs, ensuring all materials are accurate, compelling, and aligned to client requirements. The successful candidate will take ownership of following up submitted proposals, maintaining momentum and progressing opportunities through the pipeline. They will also ensure consistent and professional communication with prospective clients throughout the sales cycle, building confidence, addressing queries, and strengthening relationships to maximise conversion rates.
Role Development
As the role evolves, there will be opportunities to broaden responsibilities beyond core business development activity. This may include supporting event medical planning to ensure safe and effective delivery, contributing to venue‑specific risk assessments, and assisting in the development of tailored service proposals for clients. The successful candidate may also play a role in managing and nurturing key client relationships, helping to drive retention, repeat business, and long‑term strategic partnerships.
Salary and Incentives
£26,500 – £31,000 pro rata/ full‑time equivalent depending on experience (based on approximately 18 hours per week).
Commission
The role offers a performance‑driven commission structure, rewarding the successful generation of new business through proactive prospecting, relationship building, and client introductions. Commission is uncapped and directly aligned to the value of contracts secured, providing a clear and scalable earning opportunity for high performers. This is a commercially focused position where individual contribution has a direct impact on both personal earnings and wider business growth.
