Multiple Disadvantage Worker – Haringey (Refuge Sites)

About the Role

We are seeking compassionate, experienced professionals to join our team supporting children and young people living in refuge accommodation. Many of the children have experienced domestic abuse and other forms of multiple disadvantage, and your role will be key in helping them feel safe, build confidence, and improve emotional wellbeing during a highly unsettled period in their lives.

Working across multiple sites, you will provide structured and informal support, including one-to-one sessions and group activities tailored to individual needs. You will also work closely with mothers to encourage positive parenting approaches and ensure a family-centred approach to care.

You will manage a caseload of children from approximately 13 mothers across 3 sites, balancing direct support with accurate record keeping and multi-agency collaboration to achieve the best outcomes for each child.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct support and activities to promote wellbeing and development
  • Work collaboratively with mothers and external agencies such as schools, social care, and health services
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding policies
  • Respond to complex needs using a trauma-informed approach

Person Specification

  • NVQ Level 3+ in a relevant field (Child Development, Youth Work, or similar)
  • Safeguarding training essential
  • Experience supporting vulnerable children and families
  • Enhanced DBS and references required
  • Ability to work across multiple sites and adapt to varied needs
